The G3 Terminal was designed to optimize grain receiving, storage, and shipping throughout operations on Canada’s west coast. The terminal is located on the north shore of Burrard Inlet and utilizes the existing Lynnterm West Gate marine terminal. VanPile’s work included demolition and several site improvements including buildings, overpasses and underpasses, and modification of the existing dock. The G3 Terminal increased capacity for bulk shipments overseas, accommodating larger vessels.  

VanPile’s scope of work included:

• The project scope included demolition of the existing concrete dock, revetment fills and armour rock, steel pile installation and concrete pile caps, fenders, bollards and miscellaneous metals.
• Construction of a new ship’s berth, mooring structures, and support structures for conveyors and shiploaders.
• 134 piles driven at an average length of 87 m with 3 splices.
