Carlson Construction Group Inc. (“Carlson”) including its operating companies Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd., Brymark Installations Group Inc., and Corwest Fabrications Ltd. continue to operate on our Clients’ critical construction, fabrication and remediation contracts across the Province of BC.
While some of our Clients have curtailed construction activities at their sites, others remain underway owing to the critical nature of the work, and we are doing our best to meet our contractual obligations in the safest possible way.
Taking care of our employees and stakeholders including Clients, Teaming Partners, Subcontractors, Vendors, Consultants and Community is our priority and we are doing our part to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Our office-based staff are currently on a Work from Home protocol, with offices remaining open on a strictly limited basis to support our ongoing construction and fabrication activities.
Until further notice, all offsite and office meetings with Carlson staff will be handled remotely, and we will not schedule in-person meetings.
Office and Yard deliveries will be accepted based on following our protocols for social distancing and hygiene. As a condition of entry to our premises, Delivery personnel will be required to disinfect their hands and complete a declaration that they are asymptomatic and not required to self-isolate for 14 days due to exposure to COVID-19 or have not returned from outside of Canada within the last 14 days.
Construction worksite personnel will be limited to those required by our construction operations to be onsite for safe and quality execution.
We have instituted enhanced COVID-19 safety protocols for worksite activities, including filing of declarations by all staff working onsite, requiring all employees and visitors to site to disinfect their hands prior to beginning work or making a delivery, reviewing criteria for onsite access and hygiene during each daily tool-box meeting, cleaning and disinfecting common touch areas, lunch rooms and equipment, and staggering breaks to maintain social distancing.
Work is to take place maintaining 6 ft personal separation when possible. When such separation is not possible, we are following OSHA Guideline 3990 for medium risk activity, which entails a selection of additional PPE and procedures appropriate for the particular task.
Carlson is committed to following the best practices available for continued operations on a prudent and safe basis during the COVID-19 pandemic. Together with our valued Clients and stakeholders we can make a positive difference to help flatten the curve of COVID-19 while also protecting the health and economic interests of the industry, our employees, our families, and the communities that we work in.
