VITERRA PACIFIC TERMINAL SHIP LOADING SYSTEM UPGRADE

VanPile completed the upgrade to the Viterra Pacific Terminal Ship Loading System while adjacent berths were operational.

Locaed in Vancouver, the Viterra Pacific Terminal invested in a series of transformational upgrades to create one of the most efficient port terminals in Canada with unprecedented capability for processing a diverse range of commodities.

Viterra Pacific Terminal currently can handle in excess of 6 million metric tonnes annually, which is three times the handling capacity it had before the upgrade.

Value Engineering, which promotes the planning and delivery of projects with improved performance, was provided by VanPile with the design engineer and client.

The project was a staged construction. VanPile’s scope of work included the installation of:

  • Three berthing dolphins;
  • Two mooring dolphins;
  • 210 linear-metres of crane rail;
  • Gangways;
  • Anchored piling.
